First, make sure you have your mail server set to mail.nls.net or mail.netlink.net, if it's set to nls.net or netlink.net without the "mail" part then your misconfigured and mail won't work. This used to work in the past but doesn't anymore. If you have your own domain then set it to the name of your mail server.

AuthSMTP allows you to log into the mail server from anywhere and send outgoing email. Typically an ISP forces you to be logged into their dialup to send mail thru their servers, we do not. You can send mail via your netlink account from anywhere on the internet provided two conditions. First, the dialup node you use has to allow you to make an smtp connection to our server, some ISP's block outbound smtp connections in an attempt to control spamming. Second your email program must support authsmtp, instructions for enabling it are below.

There is a third way you can send without using authsmtp, it's called pop-b4-smtp and that simply means you must check  your email before trying to send email. Some email programs try to send before checking, so simply clicking on send/receive twice should get around that problem.

If you are having trouble sending email, for example if you have to hit send/receive several times to get your emails to send, then find  your email program below and follow the instructions for enableing authsmtp for it.
